I am delighted to begin my second year with Yellowknife Catholic Schools and to be part of the École St. Joseph School community. My dream has always been to work in the North as a principal, and I feel truly blessed to be living that dream. I am an Alberta farm girl, raised on a dairy farm, where I learned early the values of hard work, community, perseverance, and caring for others. My husband and our sons continue to live in Alberta, with one son currently working in Qatar. Education is truly a family affair—everyone but two members of my family works in education! Last year, I had the privilege of serving as Principal of École St. Patrick High School, where I enjoyed working alongside incredibly talented staff and getting to know so many wonderful students and families. This year, I am excited to continue that journey at École St. Joseph School. I look forward to building relationships, learning alongside our students and staff, and celebrating the gifts, talents, and contributions that make our school community so special. I am grateful to be here and excited for the year ahead!

Born and raised in the Northwest Territories, I moved to the capital of Yellowknife at the age of three and am grateful to have grown up in the North. I hold a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary, and I am currently completing a Master’s in Educational Leadership. I began my career with Yellowknife Catholic Schools in 2012, spending seven years at Weledeh Catholic School as a classroom teacher and Leadership and Resiliency Program (Do Edaizheh) facilitator. In 2019, I joined the Board Office as Regional Indigenous Language and Education Coordinator, supporting Indigenous language, culture, and education across YCS schools. This year marks my first year as Assistant Principal at École St. Joseph School. I am passionate about inclusive, culturally responsive education, relationship-based learning, and supporting students in becoming confident, resilient, and kind individuals within a faith-filled school community.

I am a born and raised Yellowknifer who attended Ecole St. Joseph School starting at Grade 5, and graduated from Ecole St. Patrick High School. I met my husband at ESPHS and our three children all attended YCS schools. Once I decided I wanted to be a teacher, I directed all my education towards my goal of returning North to teach. I have been blessed to be teaching at Yellowknife Catholic Schools for over 20 years and have worked at all three schools and central services in various capacities. I started my teaching career at Ecole St. Joseph School and am so excited to be returning to my roots as Vice Principal.
